Who is Julie Powell's husband?
Julie Powell met her future husband Eric in high school while they played the romantic leads in the theatre production All My Sons.
The couple was married in 1998 but trouble struck when news surfaced that Julie was having an extramarital affair.
Julie wrote about her relationship with her husband in her final book, Cleaving, A Story of Marriage, Meat, and Obsession, which was published in 2009.
The book delved into their relationship and addressed her affair with an unnamed ex-boyfriend, known simply in the book as D.

She also spoke about Eric's corresponding affair which began shortly after he found out his wife was seeing someone.
Julie revealed after her husband found out about the affair he realized she wasn't willing to stop, she wanted to remain married, and he didn't want to leave her.
In the years following the book's publication, Julie and Eric stepped away from the spotlight, keeping their relationship increasingly private.
"Eric and I made a deal," Julie told The Morning Call in 2011. "I agreed to drop the curtain on our lives to a degree, so it didn't seem like we were living in a fishbowl.

Julie's decision to "drop the curtain" came as the Julie and Julia film came out, which she said portrayed her as too sweet to some degree.
She told The Mercury News that people became invested in their relationship as a result of the movie, saying: "A lot of people saw the relationship as this paragon.
"It’s not that it was a lie, but I wrote it at this period where I was very naive and I thought marriage was a pretty little box with a bow.
She continued: "Marriage is incredibly difficult and the people in it change.
"I wanted to honor that. Both of us — primarily me — have made some really terrible choices."
In her book, Julie writes: "Eric is naturally treading very carefully in the world right about now.
"We talked a lot about me writing this book, and I would never have published it without his blessing; couldn't have, legally, even if I were so callous as to choose to.
"Eric is a naturally reserved person in the best of times. He's also an extremely courageous and generous man.
"He's not exactly tripping through the daisies this week, but he is understanding enough to know what this book means to me, and what about it is important."
Who was Julie Powell?
Julie is known for her blog, the Julie/Julia Project, which documented her working toward recreating each of the 524 recipes in Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking cookbook.
Her 2005 book Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen, was adapted into a film of the same name, which was later nominated for an Oscar.
“We have a medium where we can type in the snarky comments we used to just say out loud to our friends,” Julie said in a 2009 interview with the Orlando Sentinel.
The blog reached 400k total page views and her book sold over 1million copies.
Speaking about her book's popularity, Julie said in a 2009 interview with Cinema Blend: "At the end of the project, I had managed to do something so much bigger than I thought I was capable of.
"Not just the recipes. I had turned into a writer, I had a tone. I think really what Julia Child does, it's not just about teaching us to cook. It's about teaching us to be brave, to jump into things.
"I hope that the fact that I am honest about how hard change is, that there are setbacks and there's hopelessness and there's doubt, will make it easier for people to understand that it's not just icons like Julia Child."
She continued: "She did go through a period of doubt, and she made herself into a strong woman.
"But ordinary people, people like me-- it really is possible. It's hard, and it's scary, and you've got to make a leap.
"I hope that people will read my books and realize that anything that's worth doing is going to be tough.
"It's the bravest thing you can do, to see a life you're dissatisfied with and make a dramatic change."
When did Julie Powell die?
Julie's husband, Eric Powell, confirmed the news in a statement to The New York Times, saying she died at their home in Olivebridge, New York.
She started her food blog in 2002, which was made into a book titled Julie & Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously.
The book later became a motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.

Judy Clain was Julie's editor and the editor-in-chief of Little, Brown, publishing company and told The Times: “She had so much talent and emotional intelligence. I only wish she could have found the next thing.”
Julie is survived by her husband, Eric, her brother, and her parents.
