Peter died yesterday aged 77 after a secret cancer fight as tributes flooded into him across Britain.

The “King of Clubs” had spent a lifetime dancing, opening clubs from London to New York, Paris to Miami.

And on the way he is said to have bedded around 2,000 women – with Helen Benoist just 16 when she hooked up with Peter.

The two enjoyed endless nights of swilling Champagne and rubbing shoulders with celebs like Barbara Windsor, Jack Nicholson and Tom Jones.

She dated the club king from 1996 to 1998 after meeting him at the Stringfellows club in Covent Garden.

Helen has revealed how she charmed the then 55-year-old on the night of her model launch party.

She said he “just asked if I wanted to cover to his table and get a drink” when they first met, reports The Sun.

The Page 3 girl said “anybody who ever meets him falls in love with him” as she paid tribute to the beloved character.

Peter and Helen hit it off and two began dating, with the 39-year age gap not bothering them in the slightest.

Helen said: "He gave me help and guidance on how to be in the media, and he definitely made me the strong woman that I am today.

"I hold that all down to him.”

She added: "I think age is just a number.

"f two people get on well and they both have the same morals and they’re consenting adults I don’t think age does matter.”

The two even had a topless photoshoot together while on holiday in Barbados.

She revealed it was “Champagne for me every night” and she would meet countless celebs.

Helen said: "We were very lucky that being in the public eye opened a lot of doors for us.

“He did spoil me, but I spoilt him back.”

The couple’s relationship fizzled out as their careers took hold – but remains food friends.

She said: "Any time I ever wanted advice, I could pick up the phone and call him and he would always be more than happy to guide me,” she said.

“That’s the kind of gentleman he was, I truly don’t have a bad word to say about him.”

And she added: "I had a great time with him, and loved him with all my heart. He still has a very special place in my heart and will forever."

Over his six-decade-long career, Peter established lap-dancing nightclubs across the UK and went on to become a multi-millionaire.

In 2009, Peter married then 27-year-old Bella Wright, a former Royal Ballet dancer, in Barbados on Valentine’s Day.

He leaves behind his wife and four children, Karen, Scott, Rocabella and Angelo.

Peter was known for his flamboyant style, charismatic personality and for his ability to draw celebrities from across the planet.
